Akira Kiyota (Ryusuke Nakamura), an ordinary salesman with poor performance and heavy consumer-loan debt, feels crushed by the harshness of reality—far from his wild days as a former biker gang leader. One night, while entertaining clients at a club, Kiyota loses his temper and punches a customer. The club happens to be protected by his high school classmate Kenji Hosokawa (Sho Ikushima). Kenji knocks out the rampaging Kiyota with an ashtray. When Kiyota wakes up, he finds himself in Kenji’s office. Kenji invites him into his yakuza group, telling him this might be his one chance to turn his life around…

Kiyota Akira (Ryusuke Nakamura) and his former classmate Kenji Hosokawa (Sho Ikushima) begin making money using boat-race betting tricks. Kiyota eventually becomes favored by Yamazaki (Taketarino Yamaguchi) and surpasses Kenji’s results, causing resentment to build within Kenji. Ignoring Kiyota’s warnings, Kenji breaks the strict rules of their boat-race scheme in an attempt to earn big on his own—marking the beginning of his downfall. As his funds dry up, Kenji plans to rob the office of Fujiyoshi (Shinra Manzo), the group’s treasurer. He thinks he can get away with it—but…

Akira Kuroda (Keisuke Kida) becomes a hitman for the Sannotokai Ogata-gumi and attempts to assassinate Kumao Masatsugu (Hideo Sato), the young boss of the Kugizaki-gumi—but fails and is seriously wounded. Now both Fujita (Tsukito) of the Washizu-gumi and Kumao are out to kill him. Meanwhile, Ogata-gumi executive Kiyota (Ryusuke Nakamura) is ordered by lieutenant Yanagi (Miyabi Koteyama) to eliminate Kuroda himself. As Kiyota makes the agonizing decision to carry out the order, Kenji (Sho Ikushima) appears and points a gun at him. What is Kenji’s true intention? And what fate awaits Kuroda? The conflict rapidly escalates, triggering a full-blown internal war.

Akira Kiyota’s subordinate, Akira Kuroda (Keisuke Kida), works as a hangure (semi-gangster). Watching Kiyota and Kenji succeed as full-fledged yakuza, Kuroda grows increasingly frustrated. After getting into a fight with members of the Kugizaki-gumi, Kuroda is arrested. Kiyota settles the matter, but Kuroda is harshly scolded. Determined to prove himself, Kuroda begs Kiyota to let him officially join the organization. Fellow hangure Shirai (Takuya Shinagawa) also applies, and both are accepted as live-in apprentices of the Washizu-gumi. However, what awaits them is a world far more brutal than they ever imagined…

Cult favourite Matt Berry offers his unique take on Brexit, in this one-off comedy special to mark the passing of the Article 50 deadline. Reuniting with collaborator Arthur Matthews for the first time since Toast Of London, Berry plays rogue historian Michael Squeamish, who’s on a mission to discover the origins of Brexit and offer some interesting opinions on Britain’s current plight along the way. Through creative use of archive footage and filmed interviews, The Road To Brexit unashamedly plays fast and loose with the facts to create a joyously surreal whistle stop tour of Britain’s relationship with Europe, from the 1950s right up to Brexit.

In The Road to Terror, revolutionaries tell how their dream descended into a nightmare of terror and execution. They speak as exiles in Paris, a city that is preparing to celebrate the glories of the first mass revolution of 1978. Behind its strange images, the struggle for power in the Iranian revolution has followed a pattern uncannily similar to many of the great revolutions of the past: just as 200 years ago in France, the Iranian revolution has gone down the old road from liberation to repression, the road to terror.
